Knowledge Online is a leading developer of compliance auditing technology.

KOL deliver breakthrough solutions to clients across disciplines such as health and safety, snagging , quality, risk assessment, environment and loss prevention within industries such as construction, retail and logistics.

Requirements:
KOL wanted a more cost-effective, user-friendly faster solution to their existing enterprise management information system; E-SAFE. This PDA-based application was used by thousands of inspectors on site.

Issues:
Previous systems underperformed on a multitude of levels. A complete redesign and restructure was required to improve key areas:

• Speed
• Usability
• Technologies
• Reliability
• Reporting
• Scalability

Following an analysis of each problem, MDB began eradicating the issues by firstly developing a new product specification, and secondly offering specialist solutions to create new product capabilities.

Solution:
A highly optimised solution was created with a huge reduction in synchronisation times, resulting in a faster, more economical tool. MDB's understanding of KOL's broader business objectives enabled them to offer ideas for improvement within the overall business as well as the individual product.

The partnership fast became an indispensable resource to KOL.

Within an extremely tight timescale, MDB delivered the most proficient and cost-effective E-SAFE 100 technology system ever created. It featured many technological and function advances over its predecessors including speed, intuitiveness and reliability. As a result E-SAFE 100 won the sought after accolade Product of the Year at the Construction Computing Awards.
